Hydrangea Macrophylla ‘Mophead Blue’ 5Ltr Pot

Hydrangea ‘mophead blue’ is a delightful shrub that offers a wonderful visual experience throughout the seasons. As the hydrangea awakens from its winter slumber, it reveals satisfying, slightly toothed deep-green foliage emerging from chunky, pointed leafy buds. In the summer, pale lime green flower buds transform into bold, blue blooms, creating a stunning mid-to-late summer show. These deciduous shrubs are versatile and can be planted in pots or used as specimen plants in borders, bringing beauty and elegance to any setting. Hydrangeas produce blue flowers on acidic soils with a pH of 5.5, but on neutral or mildly acidic soils, the flowers may be predominantly pink, with occasional blue or mauve blooms. To maintain blue-toned flowers, it is important to keep the pH below 6.5, which can be achieved by using hydrangea flower colourant containing aluminium salts.
